José Moreno, brand new winner of the “Chico” Carrasquel Award for Manager of the Year for the 2023-24 season, recognized the work done by the entire team; from the coaching staff to the players, to make it possible for Bravos de Margarita to have the best regular season in its history and which led to the classification with the third best record.

“I am happy, proud to receive this award, because I know the quality of managers there are in Venezuela, all with potential and great hierarchy,” José Moreno told the insular Press Department, after learning of his designation. “This is the reward for all the work that the boys, the entire team, the collaboration of the coaching staff have done, everything is rewarded, but this is an award that belongs to everyone at Bravos de Margarita”
However, the Punto Fijo native strategist stressed that he has only tried to bring that positive message and that anything is possible on the field of play.
He spread his winning message
“Thank God we have a group of players who are characterized by their humility and commitment,” he continued for the island press team.
“We know that in a season we are going to have ups and downs, but the boys have never lost their way. What I have tried is to reaffirm and be consistent with the message that we have carried from the beginning, when we started practices, which was to qualify and that this team is made for great things.”
It should be noted that José Moreno joins Alfredo Pedrique (3), Luis Dorante (3), Marco Davalillo (2) and Wilfredo Romero (2), as the only leaders who have been awarded the award on multiple occasions in their careers as leaders in the LVBP. Well, the Falconian did the same in 2020-21 with Cardenales de Lara.
“I know of the group that has won this award, what it means to win the “Chico Carrasquel” in our League, being in that group and winning it fills me with a lot of pride.
