Rosario Central Opens 2024 Season With Victory in Uruguay Friendly

After a fantastic end to the 2023 season, Rosario Central opens its 2024 year with one of its scheduled friendlies in Uruguay. This Saturday, Miguel Russo’s team defeats Liverpool 1-0, at the Belvedere stadium in Montevideo. The match is part of the Río de la Plata Series.

The partial victory goal for the Rosario team was scored by Tobías Cervera, after a great maneuver by Lautaro Giaccone.

El Canalla played an acceptable first half and managed the timing of the game, thanks to the good ball treatment that O’Connor, Lo Celso and Lautaro Giaconne had. He was also associated in that sense with Bogado.

The Arroyito team returned to activity a little later than the rest of the teams, as their vacation also started later. SoCanalla seeks to get ready for a year in which he will have a hectic calendar.

For the first commitment of the preseason, Russo could choose a mix of starters and substitutes, thinking about not demanding their most outstanding footballers. In addition, it would be a good opportunity to observe and analyze the performance of those who have just arrived and those who want to earn their position.

Between them, he could add minutes Agustín Bravo, Franco Ibarra and even Mauricio Martínez, the three additions of the last hours. In turn, those who need to show themselves as options are Alan Rodríguez, who lost his position with Sández at the end of the year; Fabricio Oviedo, a few minutes; Lautaro Giaccone, who has not yet returned to the starting lineup since his injury; and even Tobías Cervera, who due to physical ailments left the final stretch of the tournament to Martínez Dupuy.

While waiting for the conflict that Jaminton Campaz still has with Gremio de Porto Alegre, Canalla is looking for options to face a year in which it will have more obligations, after having won the 2023 League Cup.
