TLAXCALA, Tlax., January 22, 2024.-With the objective of specifying the places and dates where the athletes will compete in the national phase as well as specific technical aspects, the Entity will serve as the headquarters of the macroregion meeting, where will receive representatives of the sports entities of Campeche, Chiapas, Hidalgo, Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Oaxaca, Tabasco, Puebla, Quintana Roo, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Veracruz and Yucatán.
The person in charge of the office of the Tlaxcala Sports Institute (IDET), Daniel Moncayo Cervantes, pointed out that this meeting, which is part of the National Sports System (SINADE), is of utmost importance as it is the headquarters that presides over the assembly, with the consent of the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE).
“This Tuesday we will have the meeting of macro region C, on this occasion Tlaxcala serves as president with the purpose of benefiting the entity with sporting events where the population attends as spectators; Representatives of sports entities will come, so we consider that it will benefit in different aspects for some sports to be developed in our State.”
There will be 19 sports that will share the macro-regional phase: athletics, chess, boxing, basketball, baseball, cycling, racquetball, women’s soccer, handball, judo, karate, weightlifting, associated wrestling, softball, tennis, table tennis, triathlon, volleyball and beach volleyball. Only taekwondo will hold a regional phase.
Proposals and designation of host entity by sporting discipline, competition calendar, registration process, medical service, event calls will be part of the topics to be considered.
Temporality, classification system, sports update, technical direction, judging in the different stages of the competition as well as the change of identity will also be part of the aspects to be discussed in this meeting; In this sense, they will also include the national qualifying events.
With this type of actions, the Entity is strengthened in sports matters, since this sector will benefit by developing activities that comprehensively favor and promote athletes with appropriate scenarios for their respective competitions.
