Kevin Durant and Joel Embiid Named NBA Players of the Week for Week 13

Like every Monday evening, time for the players of the week! Kevin Durant and Joel Embiid are today rewarded for their recent performances.

With five wins in a row, the Suns have found their cruising speed and Kevin Durant is obviously no stranger to this: 31 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks on average, all at 60% shooting including 48 % at 3-points and 100% at free throws. Under his leadership, Phoenix made a big comeback against Sacramento, before winning against the Pelicans (where Devin Booker scored 52 points…) then against the Pacers. Offensively lethal, but also present in defense, KD is in full swing… even if that doesn’t make him the GOAT.

Joel Embiid was quick to return to his MVP habits since his return from injury: 37.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks, all in just 34.4 minutes per game. Jojo put up 41 pawns in Houston, 41 against the Nuggets in a high against Nikola Jokic, before dominating the Magic and the Hornets. The Sixers have won all of their four games.

Among the other nominees in the West: Devin Booker (Suns), Paul George and James Harden (Clippers), Anthony Davis (Lakers), Jerami Grant (Blazers) and Nikola Jokic (Nuggets). In the Eastern Conference: Jalen Brunson (Knicks), Dejounte Murray (Hawks), Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen (Cavaliers).
