Having made his debut in the ring a few weeks ago, Francis Ngannou will do it again next March against Anthony Joshua. Favorite of this poster, the British boxer also approached the clash against the Cameroonian with great frankness.

The start of March will be particularly exciting for combat sports fans. Between PFL Paris and UFC 299, we will find the long-awaited boxing fight between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou. Guest of the show MMA Hour recently, the first also confided that this poster took place in special circumstances… since he was originally supposed to cross the will with someone else:

I thought it would be against (Deontay) Wilder again, because the contracts had been signed and it’s still a great fight. It’s always an amazing fight, it’s a crossover between the UK and the US, all that good promotional stuff, it’s always a good fight.

The Bronze Bomber’s defeat against Joseph Parker, however, derailed everything and it is therefore the former UFC heavyweight champion who will be his next opponent. Ngannou may not be the favorite according to the bookmakers, but he still has a more than convincing debut in the ring. His defeat against Tyson Fury continues to be controversial, with the referees deciding against him in a split decision.

Before Fury vs Usyk, Francis Ngannou’s viral prediction: “If I have to be objective, I would say…

A victory for Joshua = a title fight?

Besides that, we shouldn’t forget that the Predator is one of the biggest hitters on the planet, even managing to knock the Gypsy King to the ground last October. Suffice to say that if Joshua starts favorite, the Briton had better not underestimate him. That’s good, the person concerned is far from reasoning in this way and even sees this future shock as a springboard for his career:

There is no reason to worry about it. I’m going to focus on Ngannou being my undisputed title fight. This is the mentality I must have. Ngannou is my undisputed title fight. Because you are only as good as your last fight, and I respect that a lot. It’s not easy money. It’s hard work. And you know what’s crazy? Me too. I’m a tough nut to crack for anyone. So let’s go, it’s going to be fireworks.

While Tyson Fury will put his title on the line in a few weeks against Oleksandr Usyk, AJ’s argument is not that crazy. Defeating Ngannou would actually allow him to boost his CV a little more despite the Cameroonian’s relative experience in the ring. Deontay Wilder remaining a dismal failure, he could be the No. 1 contender at the moment.

Anthony Joshua does not intend to take Francis Ngannou lightly and it is not without reason, he who thinks he can secure a title shot by defeating the former UFC champion. Conversely, a defeat against the Predator could do enormous damage to his career and his image.
