An exclusive European judo athlete delegation visited the International Olympic Committee on Thursday afternoon. Six highly decorated judoka were invited, including Olympic silver medalist Michaela Polleres. The other players: 2-time Olympic champion Lukas Krpalek (CZE/+100), the world champions Barbara Matic (CRO/-70), Francisco Garrigos (ESP/-60), Nils Stump (SUI/-73) and the World number two Alice Bellandi (ITA/-78). The six active participants, all Olympic participants, immortalized themselves on the so-called Wall of Olympians at the IOC headquarters, received IOC diplomas and gave detailed interviews to the Olympic Channel. “We wish you much success for the Summer Games in Paris and are honored to introduce you to our office headquarters. Visits like yours are the icing on the cake for our 800 employees when it comes to preparing for the next Games,” emphasized IOC Communications Director Christian Klaue. “It was an experience to be a guest at the IOC, especially in an Olympic year. Honors like these cannot be taken for granted,” said Michaela Polleres.
