New Judo Club in North Cantal Selected for Operation 1,000 Dojos Program

A few months before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the French Judo Federation, with the help of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, launched an Operation 1,000 dojos, with the ambition of developing the activity throughout France. The North Cantal club is one of the selected associations.

The Yokaï judo club, created in North Cantal in June, under the leadership of Richard Pavia

and which launched its activities last September, positioned itself, at the end of the year, to be able to integrate the Operation 1,000 dojos system which can provide assistance for equipment and/or work of dojo layouts.

A national club endowment program

His file, validated by the municipalities where he works (Champs-Marchal, Saignes and Condat), was accepted. So much so that two officials in charge of this Operation 1,000 dojos, Sylvain Havez, inspector of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and director of this program “which is a priority of the government”, and Jean-Luc Las, responsible for development of the French Judo Federation in Occitanie, which is particularly following the files of this operation, took advantage of a trip to Cantal (notably to Aurillac) to visit the rooms of the commune where the Yokaï judo club offers its courses but also where it may offer possible internships in the near future.

They were pleasantly surprised by the places made available, the good dynamic that the club has already established and the welcome they received. They confirmed the next allocations that the Yokaï judo club will be able to benefit from. They could be effective at the end of February or in March…
