Licensed for two years at the Concarnois Olympic Badminton Club (Bocc), Suzon Hélary, 9 years old, won a third place at the Brittany youth championship, Sunday February 18, in Kervignac (56). A great performance for this young badista, reigning departmental champion, upgraded in the junior category. “Suzon is already a competitor at heart. She works a lot and her parents support her in her sporting project,” assures Philippe Le Cam, president of Bocc.
Also a member of the Departmental Training Center, the pre-teen trains a total of four times a week: twice at the Saint-Joseph high school gymnasium and twice at the Porzou sports hall. So, obviously, she is progressing well. “Suzon is a real sponge. She learns quickly, but you have to let her grow, go at her own pace,” warns the manager. “Even if she is small at the moment, she recently won an interregional competition. That shows his level,” concludes Philippe le Cam, admiringly.
