VIVA – Inter Milan is increasingly comfortable at the top of the Italian League standings after achieving a big win over Salernitana.
Inter hosted Salernitana at the Giuseppe Meazza, Saturday 17 February 2024. They beat the visiting team by four goals without reply.
Inter’s four goals were scored by Marcus Thuram (17′), Lautaro Martinez (19′), Denzel Dumfries (40′), and Marko Arnautovic (90′).
Now, Simone Inzaghi’s team has won 63 points from 24 matches. They beat Juventus who are in second place with 54 points from 25 matches after being held by Hellas Verona 2-2.
Inter can even stay away because they have one more game in savings. Inter’s position became more comfortable after third place AC Milan lost 2-4 to Monza on Monday morning. As a result, they are now stuck in third place with 52 points from 25 matches.
Seeing this situation, Juventus midfielder, Adrien Rabiot, said that it was no longer possible for his team to become champions of the Italian League.
“We have to be realistic at the moment, Inter are in their way and we have to fight to maintain second place,” said Rabiot on Football Italia.
“We are in this position with 53 points (54 after Verona), we just have to find it again and fight for second place,” he added.
