Good news for Bayern Munich. In the midst of searching for a new coach for next season, Xabi Alonso reportedly prefers to coach Bayern rather than Liverpool.
Bayern and Liverpool will both have their coaches leave at the end of the season. The Reds has agreed to part ways with Thomas Tuchel, while Juergen Klopp decided to leave Liverpool because he wanted to take a break.
Alonso is the European giant’s second target after Bayer Leverkusen performed sensationally throughout 2023/24. Leverkusen went unbeaten in all 34 matches and had the chance to win the treble.

Until the 24th week of the Bundesliga, Leverkusen was 10 points ahead of Bayern and was on the verge of winning the first league title in the club’s history. Besides that The Werkself still remaining in the DFB Cup (semi-finals) and Europa League (last 16).
Bayern Munich is believed to have held a meeting with Xabi Alonso. Report Sky Sports Jerman stated that discussions between the two camps were positive, and Alonso indicated he was interested in training Harry Kane et al.
It was also stated that Alonso was hesitant about moving to Anfield. The former footballer, who is now 42 years old, feels that replacing Klopp with all his legacy would be too big a risk.
Alonso himself has not yet decided whether he will leave Bayer Leverkusen or not in the summer. However, if Alonso had to leave BayArena he would prefer to continue his career in Germany.
Xabi Alonso is not the only coach Liverpool is targeting. Roberto de Zerbi (Brighton) and Ange Postecoglou (Tottenham Hotspur) are said to be other options for the Reds.
