Dominican Republic Defeats Panama 11-10 in U15 Pan American Baseball Championship

EL NUEVO DIARIO, BOCA CHICA.- Wandy Asigen hit a home run to tie the game and Alfredo Sena sentenced the match in extra inning with a three-run home run and the Dominican Republic left the Panama squad lying on the field, after beating them 11-10 on the second day of action of the VI WBSC Americas U15 Pan American Baseball Championship that is being held in Baseball City of this Municipality.

The Dominican Republic remains undefeated in Group A with a record of (2-0), while Panama registers (1-1).

The Panamanians stayed ahead in the game, shutting out the Dominicans 5-0 until the end of the sixth inning, which began the Quisqueyanos’ stoppage time with an RBI single by Miguel Grullón and a double by César Altagracia, the game was 5-2 for the Panamanians.

But in the seventh down, Puerto Plata native Wandy Asigen tied the game at five apiece, after hitting a three-run home run to center field.

Panama took control of the match again with five more rounds in the top 8, and momentarily tasted victory, 10-5.
