Paris-Roubaix organization confirms entry of chicane for Bos van Wallers: “Limit the risk of falls”

After a day of speculation, it finally happens. Next weekend the peloton will have to take a chicane before disbanding the devils on the cobblestone section Trouée d’Arenberg. “We want to limit the risk of falls on the cobblestones,” said the organization of Paris-Roubaix.

Yesterday another point of discussion in Northern France, today the local authorities have given their approval for the chicane just before the Forest of Wallers.

“At the request of the riders’ union and for safety reasons, we are taking care of the entry into the Forest of Wallers,” the Paris-Roubaix organization shared in a statement on social media.

“The course will take a chicane just before the entrance to the sector to slow down the speed at which the riders enter the sector. In this way we want to limit the risk of falls on the cobblestones.”

What exactly that chicane will look like will become clear in the coming days.
