The official website of Pallacanestro Goldengas Senigallia publishes the following: “An authentic sporting battle. Goldengas falls at the home of Virtus Roma 1960 at the end of 40 minutes which we would like to define as playoffs, but given the climate found in the capital it is difficult to limit ourselves exclusively to what happened on the pitch. And there is reason to believe that it was an eagerly awaited match, also due to the importance of these two points up for grabs; but we would never want to talk about a fiery climate, even bordering on intimidating, with a near suspension of hostilities, and with the team group escorted by the police to exit the capital in safety and tranquility. But so it is, and the field has issued its verdict.”
Virtus GVM Roma 1960 learned with great amazement what the host club said. There is talk of a fiery climate but the fire, differently from what the Pallacanestro Goldengas Senigallia writing would like to explain, does not have, as claimed, a single trigger point but rather, it arose from the profoundly provocative attitude of a supporter following the the visiting club who addressed the home fans on several occasions with manners and attitudes that were difficult to classify within a parameter of vulgarity, as also recognized by the visiting management staff present. The staff of the home team tried on several occasions to ask the visiting management to be able to speak to this person, who despite everything continued.
It is then specified, and this is even more regrettable, that no member of the team group received intimidating and/or threatening acts, to the point that several players, at the end of the match, were outside the playing facility talking to those who were allegedly, in the guest reconstruction, the authors of such intimidation, and what’s more in an absolutely cordial atmosphere. And finally, in relation to the need for Pallacanestro Goldengas Senigallia to be escorted, it is specified that the host club requested such support, despite a climate that was anything but fiery (as reported above) at the end of the match and that it was able to go to your own means of transport (about 800 meters away) in total serenity and without any danger.
Virtus GVM Roma 1960 is therefore ready to assume its responsibilities, always, but only if they belong to reality and not to reconstructions aimed at discrediting it.
