Bolivia started yesterday on the right foot in the racquetball contest during the I Bolivarian Youth Games Sucre 2024, after winning all of its matches in the group round.
On this first day, the Bolivians faced rivals from Chile, Ecuador and each other, where the host racquetball players achieved full victories.
With these results, the Bolivians were in better positions in the elimination phase, which will start today.
“We have been preparing for years. In our ranks there are world champions, such as Natalia Méndez and Jhonatan Flores, who are the number one seeds after achieving the world championship in Tarija. Our idea is to win the five gold medals that are in dispute during the Games,” said Carlos Tapia, coach of the national delegation.
Other disciplines
Yesterday, Sucre 2024 awarded medals in athletics, road cycling and triathlon, sports in which, despite the efforts of national athletes, Bolivia did not manage to win any medals.
During today’s day, the Games will continue with the presentation of medals in athletics (9), judo (4), wrestling (5), squash (4) and triathlon (1).
