The winter archery season has ended in recent weeks and the Archers of Caen can be proud of their results. This Monday, April 15, 2024, they celebrated their archers who won medals at the various departmental, regional and national championships.

This is a first for the club. We had several qualifications for the different championships, with very good results and it seems important to me to share that together. It is important to thank the archers who represent us.

William Carville, president of the Caen Archers

Three Normandy championship titles

Among the different age categories and different types of bow, the Caen Archers were very well represented. Out of 175 archers registered in competitions, the club won 74 medals, around thirty more than last season. “It gets better every year,” says the president. For five years now, the club has evolved and grown. »

At the head of the club since 2019 and an archer since 2007, William Carville expects to see the number of licensees increase further.

There are generally between 80 and 90 licensees each year. We expect to have a renewed interest following this summer’s Olympic Games, that’s usual.

Among the notable results, Enzo Taburet was twice vice-champion of Calvados in individual and team before adding a bronze medal at the Normandy championship in the U21 category. Among the seniors, Alain Desbrosses, Cécile Darcillon and Denis Darcillon were crowned Normandy champions.
