The ‘French Open’ outfit is still in the making – Ostapenko also shares her love for hip-hop

Latvia’s leading tennis player Jeļena Ostapenko has successfully started the clay season – she has to participate in the third round of the prestigious Madrid “WTA 1000” series tournament this weekend, but in a conversation with the media she shared her love for the hip-hop music genre.

In Madrid, the courts are quite fast – similar to the French Open. Maybe even some hard courts are not as fast as here,” says Ostapenko in an interview with “Tennis Channel”. “I think I move much better on clay. Hard courts are not easy for me sometimes. Maybe it’s too easy to play on them (laughs). The harder I go, the better the results.”

“It must be something nice, definitely. Of course, I choose the color and type of my outfit, I communicate with the girl who creates it. We both work on it. I don’t want to wear something I don’t like,” emphasizes the tennis player.

Ostapenko also told about her experience at the concert of the musician “Drake”, which she went to in Miami this year. She even liked the part where another rap artist “Lil Wayne” performed much better. The Latvian tennis player adds that “50 Cent”‘s work is also appealing to her. “Last year there was his concert in Riga, but unfortunately I couldn’t attend it. I was very sad about it. Maybe I will be able to see “50 Cent” in another city where he will have a concert.”
