The Goblets of Bubbles and Tournament of Freedom events were presented today; The Secretary of State for Tourism Federico Pedini Amati, Danilo Forcellini and Daniel Francesconi for San Marino Food Events, Luciano Zanotti and Andrea Filipucci from Cerna dei Lunghi Archi took part.
Thus the Secretary of State for Tourism Federico Pedini Amati: “With great pleasure we will welcome to San Marino the archers who will come to compete for the Freedom Tournament. Our Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and our Cava dei Balestrieri are the ideal theater for historical re-enactment events. Thanks therefore to the Long Bows of San Marino and to all the companies that will reach San Marino to enliven these two days with their clothes, their drums and showing off their great qualities as archers. At the same time, allow me to thank the organizers of Calici di Bolle who, focusing on the attractiveness of food and wine, have been organizing this event for some years now. What awaits us will undoubtedly be a unique weekend of great tourist influx, once again you will see how many visitors our Republic is capable of attracting.”
Glasses of Bubbles
The weekend of May 31st, June 1st and 2ndthe evocative historic center of San Marino will once again be transformed into a food and wine paradise for the seventh edition of “Glasses of Bubbles“. The event, which has now become a fixed event awaited by everyone, will liven up Via Eugippo with an extraordinary selection of wineries, street food proposals and live musical performances.
Today, Friday 31 May, the evening will begin at 6.00 pm while on Saturday and Sunday the stands will already be open from 11.00 am, offering visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in a unique atmosphere, characterized by a fascinating location, by excellent wines and foods and by the engaging music that will be the soundtrack to this unmissable event.
The event is free to enter and is organized by San Marino Food Events with the patronage of the Secretariat of State for Tourism.
The Tournament of Freedom
The “Freedom Tournament, absolute Italian historical archery championship”. The competition, organized by the Cerna dei Lunghi Archi of San Marino, will bring together archers from all the Italian Federations, Leagues and Associations on Titan and will award the category prizes and, in a final challenge between all the winners, the now famous Collar of San Marino.
The event will open on Saturday 1st June with a convivial evening, open to all, accompanied by Celtic music at the Cava dei Balestrieri while the race will start at 9.30am on Sunday 2nd June and will close around 2.30pm. At 10am in Cava dei Balestrieri the “Giostra dei Tamburi” starts. At 4pm the Cava dei Balestrieri will host the final which will award the Collar of San Marino and designate the “Champion of Champions of the Historical Arch”.
The initiative has received wide participation for years and takes on, in 2024, an even higher and symbolic value as it will allow the participation, in the same race, of athletes registered in all the Italian Federations, Leagues and Associations that practice the discipline of historical archery.
The historical competition in medieval costume organized in the Republic of San Marino by the Cerna dei Lunghi Arci has benefited from the patronage of the Secretariat of State for Tourism and the Secretariat of State for Sport for over 10 years as well as that of the San Marino Shooting Federation ‘Bow.
