Filipino Coach Admits GBK’s ‘Haunted’ Atmosphere, Starting from the Stadium Atmosphere That Gives Goosebumps to How the Indonesian National Team Plays in Front of Tens of Thousands of Supporters

tvOnenews.com – Philippines coach Tom Saintfiet admitted that the Indonesian National Team was a tough opponent after his team lost 2-0 at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (GBK).

Goals from Thom Haye (32′) and Rizky Ridho (56′) made the Indonesian national team gain three important points over the Philippines.

The Garuda squad managed to finish as runners up or second in Group F in the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualification in the Asian zone.

Tom Saintfiet congratulated the Indonesian National Team for qualifying for the next round and also admitted that he was surprised by the atmosphere at GBK.

“I congratulate the Indonesian National Team, PSSI, and also Indonesian supporters who have qualified for the 2027 Asian Cup and the third round of 2026 World Cup Qualification,” said Tom Saintfiet, Tuesday (11/6/2024).

According to him, there is a ‘haunted’ atmosphere at GBK that Filipino coach Tom Saintfiet has never felt while he has been a tactician since 1997.
