Ibaraki Robots Sign Shooting Guard Zen Endo for 2024-25 Season

This season, he is averaging 8.0 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

On June 18, the Ibaraki Robots announced that they had reached an agreement on a player contract with Zen Endo for the 2024-25 season.

Endo, 25, is a 182cm, 75kg shooting guard from Niigata Prefecture. He joined Osaka Evessa as an amateur player in March 2021. He started his professional career with Niigata Albirex BB in the 2021-22 season, and in his third year with the club, he played in 50 games, averaging 8.0 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 22.2 minutes of playing time.

Ibaraki’s GM Yoshihisa Ochi commented on Endo as follows: “On the offensive side, I think he will bring explosive speed and rhythm to the team, both as a handler and as a wing player, by utilizing his physical abilities. Also, on the defensive side, which is one of the team’s issues, I’m sure he will contribute not only by putting strong pressure on the ball handler, but also by putting his body on the line and not giving freedom to the players he is matched up against.”

Endo commented through the club, “I would like to use my strengths, fast breaks from defense and three-point shots, to play basketball every day and contribute as much as I can to the Robots.”
