Pithiviers Badminton Association Honored with Three Prestigious Labels

The Pithiverian association was triple rewarded with the label of conviviality, that of badminton disability sport and that of “Bad for all”.

Saturday morning, at the Joinville gymnasium, the Pithiviers Badminton Association (ABP) was distinguished. This dynamic club, chaired by Marine Durant, has 135 members, almost equally between men and women.

Promotion among women

The labels are awarded to different clubs by the Center Val de Loire badminton league, according to different criteria. The ABP was awarded three labels (out of five possible) by the president. The conviviality label, gold level, rewarding the hosting and organization of tournaments and events. The handicap badminton sport label, silver level. The ABP counts among its licensees Sabrina Cornayre, vice-champion of France in armchair badminton. Third distinction, the “bad for all” label, bronze level, rewarding the club’s initiatives for promoting badminton among women, such as the organization of badminton-fitness evenings.

Marine Durant welcomed the presentation of these labels and the recognition of the league for the ABP, but also the dynamic of the club due to all the licensees. His dearest wish is to keep these three labels at the end of next season and to obtain the other two, namely the sport-health and bad-responsibility labels.

250 matches played this weekend

Obtaining the gold level conviviality label proved its entire reason for being this weekend, since the league organized the 2024 youth master final in Pithiviers. This competition saw the 95 best young people (chicks to cadets) compete against each other. ), coming from 92 clubs in the region. In total, 250 matches took place during the weekend, also making it possible to confirm new referees.
