Jan Hirt has fallen before the first stage of the Tour de France. The Czech climber fell after getting caught on a spectator’s backpack. The Soudal Quick-Step rider has three broken teeth.
Hirt made it to the start of the first stage, but not without injuries. Manager Patrick Lefevere expresses his anger on social media. “There are 100 rules for the team, but a backpack caused Jan Hirt to fall between signing the starting sheet and the bus… Three broken teeth.”
In front of the camera of HLN Yves Lampaert responded to the difficult incident. “It is complete chaos. The organization has no control over it at all. People are running everywhere. Jan kept stuttering and went over the top. We riders get fines galore for small things, the organization should take a look in the mirror. It is unacceptable.”
Earlier this week, Louis Vervaeke crashed during a training ride for the Tour. In other words, things are not going well for Evenepoel’s team.
There 100 rules for the team but one with backpack made crashing jan Hirt between the signings and the bus. 😡😡😡.
