Club Brugge has reached an agreement for the transfer of Argentinian defender Zaid Romero, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports.
The 24-year-old left-footed central defender joins from Estudiantes for a fee of around six million euros, with a sell-on clause for his former club.
Romero, who can also play as a left back, was under contract until 2026 and had a market value of six million euros.
He played 25 matches for Estudiantes last season and scored two goals. The transfer is a new important reinforcement for Club Brugge, which has been looking for defensive reinforcement for a long time.
However, the club does not appear to be ready in the transfer market and wants to further strengthen itself for the coming season, in which they want to compete on all fronts, including the group stage of the Champions League after their recent league title
