The American golfer with Czech roots, Nelly Kordová, has recently been experiencing a very contradictory period. Now the 25-year-old player has withdrawn from the tournament in London, and the reason is very bizarre. Cordova was bitten by a dog.
“I regret to announce that I have to withdraw from the Ladies European Tour in London next week. I was bitten by a dog in Seattle on Saturday and need time to heal and fully recover,” Nelly Kordová wrote on instagram.
The 25-year-old golfer had a dream start to the year when she was able to triumph in five tournaments in a row and make history in women’s golf. So far, only two players have won five in a row on the LPGA circuit – Swedish Annika Sörenstam and American Nancy Lopez.
But now the daughter of the former Czech tennis player Petr Korda is struggling game-wise and has not passed the cut in the last three tournaments. “Thank you for your understanding and I look forward to returning to the field soon,” Kordová added to her bizarre injury.
