The national team started the match well with baskets from Rrezon and Kaan, and was ahead 9-4 in the third minute. Italy, who scored points with Perez and Nistrio and equalized the score (10-10) in the 5th minute, finished the first quarter ahead 28-18.
Italy, who started the second quarter with consecutive points scored by Gerevaglia, increased the difference to 15 points (36-21) at one point. Increasing its tempo and achieving an 11-0 series, the national team managed to take a 41-40 lead in the 39th minute and went to the locker room with a 43-42 advantage.
The national team, which gained the lead (55-51) in the 25th minute with points from Mathis, Hassan and Gerevaglia, put their weight behind the game with the support of their fans and entered the last quarter ahead 61-60.
With a 5-point streak in the last quarter, the national team increased the difference to 7 points (69-76) three minutes before the end, leaving the hall victorious 79-74 and achieved their first victory in the group.
The national team will face Argentina on Tuesday, July 2 in their last match in the group.
