Forty years after his participation in 1984 Los Angeles Olympicsthe Orléans Guy Delvingt will get another taste of the Games. This time, he will be assistant coach of the French men’s judo team, alongside Baptiste Leroythe head of the men’s team at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Multiple French champion among the less than 60 kgthe former judoka of 65 ans has already been thenational coach of the French teams from 1986 to 2000.
Alongside Teddy Rinner
His mission this summer will be tosupervise the Bluesincluding Teddy Riner who will try to win a fourth Olympic titleas well as all the other talents of French judo, in their quest for a medal at home. Paris, a city that Guy Delvingt knows well because he has won the Paris tournament twice in the under 60kg category in 1981 and 1982.
Loiret will therefore have a representative at the 2024 Olympics in judo but without a judoka at the Games for the first time in a long time.
