MADRID, 12 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Spanish tennis player Martín de la Puente reached the final of the Wimbledon wheelchair tennis tournament on Friday after beating world number one Tokito Oda, from Japan, in the semi-finals.
De la Puente, the 2022 US Open doubles champion, thus became the first Spaniard to appear in a wheelchair tennis Grand Slam singles final, with a spectacular comeback against the Asian player (1-6, 6-3, 6-3). For the title, the Galician will face local idol Alfie Hewett this Sunday.
