Sparta Prague Holds on to Goalkeeper Vindahl as Kasper Schmeichel Heads to Celtic

After the departure of Ladislav Krejčí, Sparta dealt with the interest in goalkeeper number one Peter Vindahl, for whom Scottish Celtic were very interested. In the end, it seems, the Prague team will survive and the famous team will look elsewhere. Experienced Kasper Schmeichel should head to Glasgow.

Celtic were very interested in Peter Vindahl, who picked up fifteen clean sheets last year and contributed significantly to the Spartan double. At the beginning of July, he became a regular player for Sparta, and Letenští could cash him in immediately.

However, the Prague team set a high price, and Celtic coach Glasgow Brendan Rodgers somehow got away with the preferred reinforcements. According to an Italian journalist Roman Fabrizia one of the most successful European clubs decided on a different choice.

Vindahl’s compatriot and experienced Kasper Schmeichel, who once led Leicester to the Premier League title, should head to Glasgow. After leaving England, he caught in Lille and last worked in Anderlecht. He should sign a contract in Glasgow for two years.

Sparta will probably be able to keep goalkeeper Vindahl, with whom he is fighting for participation in the Champions League and for a domestic hat-trick, which would ensure Letenský’s direct participation in the Champions League in 2025/26.

The talented Adam Karabec also left Sparta in the summer:
