When it comes to the San Francisco 49ers, former wide receiver Jerry Rice clearly means business, and he made that clear to two reporters who came to interview him during a round of golf last week.
The Niners’ all-time great from 1985 to 2000 has not lost his passion for the team, even at age 61. Rice was continuing a practice round Thursday ahead of the American Century Championship, a celebrity event on a course near Lake Tahoe in Nevada, when he was approached by representatives from Starcade Media.

According to TMZ, the topic of discussion seemed very sensitive to Rice: the Kansas City Chiefs, the team that defeated San Francisco in the most recent Super Bowl. More specifically, the former star was asked about the group of receivers of the defending champions and, as a video showed, he did not appreciate the initiative of the two impromptu visitors.
After walking away from them, Rice returned towards them, threatening to assault them and shouting a few words before continuing on his way.

While Starcade justified himself by indicating on Facebook that he wanted to discuss a very specific subject with Rice, the main person concerned declared to TMZ that the journalists displayed a somewhat smirk and wanted, according to him, to make him lose his temper.
“I will defend the San Francisco 49ers. That’s my story,” he said.
