Álvaro Morata has taken another dig at Jamal Musiala after winning the European Championship. The captain took the microphone during the title party in Madrid and let himself go slightly when announcing Dani Carvajal.
Spain became European champions for the fourth time in history on Sunday evening at the expense of England. In the final, they were too strong with 2-1 thanks to goals from Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal.
On Monday evening, La Selección was welcomed in Madrid, where the title party got underway. First, the Spanish selection was driven through the city by bus, then the party continued on a stage in the centre of the Spanish capital.
There Morata seized his moment by announcing all the players via the microphone. When announcing right back Carvajal, Morata went a bit too far, by taking another dig at Musiala, who was eliminated with Germany in the quarter finals by the European champions.
“Where is Musiala?!”, Morata shouted into the microphone. Then Carvajal appeared on the stage. The Real Madrid right back picked up his second yellow card in extra time of the quarter-final against Germany after a foul on Musiala. Nevertheless, Spain won that match 2-1.
