Lega Serie A has decided to challenge, with a unanimous vote during the assembly underway in Milan, the resolution with which the FIGC Council confirmed the weights among the various components for the election of the next federal president, scheduled for November 4.
The federal president is elected by 275 delegates representing the Lega Serie A, Lega Serie B, Lega Pro and Lega Nazionale Dilettanti clubs, the Italian Footballers Association, the Italian Coaches Association and the Italian Referees Association: however, the votes will be weighted, the weight of some delegates will therefore count more than others. In practice, Serie A, which has 20 delegates, will express 62 votes (each vote is worth 3.10), while Lega Dilettanti, which has 91 delegates whose weight is 1.93, will express a sum of 175.63, almost three times that of Serie A. With today’s decision by Lega Serie A, the elections could be postponed.
