Notice on holding the Shanghai Workers Sports Fitness Four Seasons League “Lingang Group Cup” Building Workers Badminton Competition

To the Propaganda and Education Departments of the Trade Unions of each District and County Bureau (Industry):

In order to promote the balanced development of sports and fitness for building workers, promote mutual exchanges and regional linkages among building workers, promote the healthy development of building workers’ sports and fitness clubs, associations, interest groups and other organizations, and effectively safeguard the health rights of building workers, the Shanghai Building Workers Badminton Competition is specially held.

IV. Project Settings

All the matches are mixed team matches, divided into two groups, A and B. The order of the matches in Group A is mixed doubles, men’s doubles, men’s singles; the order of the matches in Group B is mixed doubles, men’s doubles, women’s singles.

5. Competition Division

The competition is divided into four stages: preliminary round, semi-final, final and grand final.

In the first stage of the preliminary competition, the trade unions of the bureaus (industries) of each district and county will actively initiate and organize badminton competitions for building workers, carry out competition training, conduct selection at all levels, and submit the materials for organizing the competition (videos, pictures, order books, competition plans, competition notices) to the competition committee. The competition committee will review the competition materials and award the Excellent Organization Award to units with strong organization and good results in accordance with relevant requirements.

In the second and third rounds of the semi-finals and finals, each district and county bureau (industry) unit will form a team based on the results of the preliminary round. The competition committee will divide the teams into two competition areas (upper half and lower half) according to the registration and draw lots. The top 64 teams in each group will enter the finals, and the top eight teams in groups A and B will be rewarded. At the same time, the spiritual civilization award will be given to units with excellent performance and good organization of the audience (including cheerleading) and they will be rewarded.

In the fourth stage finals, the top 16 teams in Group A and Group B (32 teams in total) will compete in the finals, and the top eight will be rewarded.

VI. Registration Method

(1) The streets (towns) under each district and county organize employee teams named after buildings to participate in the competition (such as: Jing’an District Cadic Building Team, Huangpu District Science and Technology Capital Building Team). The team members can be composed of employees of a unit in the same building, or employees of different units in the same building, or employees of different units in different buildings.

Each commission, office, bureau and industry also organizes employee teams named after buildings to participate in the competition (such as the Financial Building Team of the Financial Party Committee and the Jiushi Building Team of the Jiushi Group), and the participating team members are employees of the system.

There is no limit on the number of teams that register for the competition. The qualifications of the teams will only be reviewed based on the selection materials provided.

(II) The competition rules for each category of the “Lingang Group Cup” Shanghai Building Workers Badminton Competition will be published on the website of the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions (www.shzgh.org) in the documents and forms section starting from May 28, 2014. All units may download and use them as needed.

3. Starting from May 29, each unit can register according to specific requirements. First register by electronic document or fax, and then mail the paper registration form with official seal and relevant materials for organizing the competition (video materials and photos can be sent to the registration email) to the registration address of the competition committee. At the same time, upload a photo of the participating team with an accuracy of more than 1.5 megabytes in jpg or tif format to the registration email.

VII. Tournament Rewards

The top eight in Group A and Group B in the two competition areas and the top eight in the finals will be awarded trophies, certificates and bonuses.
