Corrientes leader heading to the Olympic Games

The current captain of the Mitre Park institution, Eduardo Mariño Rey, will be present at the Olympic event due to his leadership role in the Argentine Judo Confederation.

From Friday, July 26 to Sunday, August 11, the most important sporting event in the world will be taking place: the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Although it is a place where all athletes dream of reaching one day, it is also the space where the leaders of the different Olympic disciplines meet to support and defend the interests of their institutions and their sports. This will be the case of Mariño Rey, the captain of the Club de Regatas Corrientes, who will be present at the event as a guest of the International Judo Federation (IJF) for his role as secretary of the Argentine Judo Confederation.

The former judo coordinator of the Mitre Park institution will be present from the beginning of the competition until August 4, and he will be there accompanying the only Argentine judo representative who will be participating in the Olympics, Sofía Fiora.

It is worth mentioning that Mariño Rey has been secretary of the Argentine Judo Confederation since 2004, and has already been present at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro 2007 and Lima 2018, at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore 2010 and Buenos Aires 2018, and at the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008, London 2012 and will do so again in the French capital.

This helps to dimension the important work of the Club de Regatas Corrientes in the training, not only of Olympic athletes, but also of leaders, a fundamental role for the growth and development of sports activities.
