The Xavi Simons Transfer Saga: FC Bayern, RB Leipzig, and PSG in the Mix

FC Bayern are enthusiastic about him, RB Leipzig would like to keep him and Paris Saint-Germain are apparently not yet sure how to proceed with their player: The only thing that is clear at the moment is that, according to an English media report, another interested party has withdrawn from the poker game for Xavi Simons – at least for the time being.

Xavi Simons is one of the hottest transfers this summer. The attacker, who was most recently active with the Netherlands at the European Championships and is currently on holiday, is being courted by several clubs. Above all, FC Bayern is considered the main interested party for the 21-year-old, who was loaned from Paris Saint-Germain to RB Leipzig last season, where he was extremely impressive.

It’s no wonder, then, that the Red Bulls are keen to continue to rely on Xavi. Those in charge have made this clear once again in recent days. Until recently, Manchester United were considered another candidate in the poker game for the European Championship star. But as the “Telegraph” is now reporting, those in charge at the English record champions have come to the realisation that they have no chance with the versatile attacking player this year.

ManUnited are therefore assuming that a signing of the Dutchman this summer is rather unlikely, but the 21-year-old’s development will still be monitored. Perhaps for a new attempt in mid-2025?

It is doubtful, however, whether Xavi will still be on the market. The poker game for the attacker is currently dragging on, according to “Bild” mainly because PSG first want to bag a successor for Kylian Mbappé, who has moved to Real Madrid, before letting Xavi go.

However, it is already clear that Xavi wants to leave the French top club and that they are considering a loan.

RB Leipzig and FC Bayern court Xavi Simons

Where to? To FC Bayern rather than Leipzig, it seems. The “AZ” newspaper recently reported that Xavi “clearly prefers” a move to the German record champions over another season with the Red Bulls. Nevertheless, RB is currently trying everything to somehow convince Xavi to continue his commitment.

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund had meanwhile raved about Xavi a few days ago.

The contract of the sought-after Dutch international at PSG is dated until summer 2027. According to “Bild”, the Parisians are only considering another loan for the time being, as they would only be able to collect the full transfer fee from January 1, 2025. Until then, Xavi Simon’s former club PSV Eindhoven would receive a share.
