Shirine Boukli (-48 kg) will not be Olympic champion in Paris. The FLAM 91 resident fell in the quarter-finals against Natsumi Tsunoda (4th in the world) without really being able to put her judo in place. The Japanese indeed won after a minute of combat with her first real attack, stunning and unstoppable, a tomoe-nage on which Boukli could do nothing.
#Paris2024 | Shirine Boukli’s disappointment. The Frenchwoman fell in the quarter-finals, beaten by the Japanese Natsumi Tsunoda.
But she can still grab the bronze thanks to the repechage tournament, today at 4 p.m.

The step was too high for the Essonne native. Very disappointed when she left the tatamis, she will try to bounce back during the repechage (starting at 4 p.m.) to go for a bronze medal at the end of the afternoon. She will first have to get rid of the Italian Assunta Scutto, world number one, who also fell in the quarter-finals.
