KAA Gent Bids Farewell to Tarik Tissoudali: A Hero’s Exit After Stellar Seasons

KAA Gent waves Tissoudali goodbye: “Thank you, Tita Tovenaar

Tarik Tissoudali leaves KAA Gent with 56 goals and 28 assists in 3.5 seasons. In the winter of 2021 he came to Gent from Beerschot. KAA Gent put a video online this morning to thank “a player who gave us a lot of fun”.

2021-2022 was a top season with 27 goals and 9 assists in all competitions. He was ready for the World Cup, but fate struck with a cruciate ligament injury. Tissoudali fought back and made 21 goals and 12 assists last season.

“KAA Gent has had a number of footballers par excellence in its history and Tarik is definitely one of them,” said sporting manager Arnar Vidarsson.

“People came to the stadium for him. He was a man with an opinion. We will miss him, but we respect his choice to embark on another adventure outside of Ghent.”
