Marcq-en-Baroeul (France), Aug 1 (EFE).- The Spanish basketball team, which lost its first game of the Paris Games against Australia (92-80) and won the second against Greece (84-77), held its last training session in the town of Marcq-en-Baroeul before the decisive match this Friday against Canada, coached by Spaniard Jordi Fernández, which will take place at the Pierre Mauroy stadium in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, also on the outskirts of Lille. Sergio Scariolo’s men will face Canada – the leader of Group A, the only team with two victories – in their third game, of vital importance in a tournament whose preliminary phase is played in Lille and which will be decided from the quarterfinals in Paris Bercy. In a round of eliminations to which the top two from each of the three groups will advance, as well as the two best third-placed teams.
