Altuna III and Rezusta are the runners-up in the Torneo de La Blanca. They beat Zabala and Martija on Tuesday at the Ogueta fronton and will play the final match against Artola and Imaz on Thursday. The Guipuzcoans had to work hard, but they demonstrated their ability to resist a combination that collapsed in the last part of the match. When it seemed that they could put more pressure on the Colorados, they paid dearly for the errors they made.

Fourth consecutive final – he has not yet played in the Bizkaia Tournament – for the striker from Amezketa, who has had a summer to remember. Although he started off a bit cold in Vitoria and missed a few balls that he usually does not miss, the player from Amezketa has settled down as the minutes have passed to return to his usual self and it has been his run of seven goals with which they have put the match on track.

Rezusta started well, but had to work hard because Martija was responsive in the long stretches and Zabala also charged back with his aerial game. He conveyed confidence and even dared to use his right foot on seven occasions.

The blues lacked belief. Especially the striker from La Rioja. They held on to the game because the Navarrese defender was in charge during different phases of the match, but they were unable to get the necessary performance out of him. Zabala played seriously and patiently. He added some spice to the match when things were at their most difficult, but the demands of his rivals took their toll on him mentally in the final part.

Step forward

The winners have maintained their lead in the early stages, but some lost balls by Altuna III and the persistence of the blues have caused everything to be tight on the scoreboard eight. Even the Riojan and the Etxeberri team have managed to go two goals ahead. It was then that Altuna III stepped forward to make the difference. With seven consecutive goals, they have changed the dynamic of the match.

But when it seemed that the blues were going to feel the blow to the chin of the blues of the player from Amezketa, the Riojan took the risk, aware that it was now or never, and four of his beautifully crafted goals put them within three. However, that was as far as their strength went. In the next goal, Zabala dropped a ball with his left foot, Martija lost another with his right and they fell apart definitively.

In the match that opened the festival, Darío and Aldabe beat Urrutikoetxea and Eskiroz (21-22) in another tough match that lasted more than an hour.
