Villa Mercedes Park: Free Sports Activities for All Ages and Abilities

Children, adults and people with disabilities can choose from 14 activities to practice in the different spaces of the Villamercedino park.

The Department of Sports continues to work on its goal of achieving widespread physical activity by offering a wide range of free sports activities in different parts of the province. Villa Mercedes is no exception and La Pedrera Park has a wide variety of sports schools. This initiative seeks to promote healthy habits and guarantee access to sports for the whole family.

Since the activities began in March, La Pedrera Park has become a sports centre that houses 12 disciplines adapted for all ages and abilities. From the youngest to the elderly, including people with disabilities, everyone can find a space to practice sports under the guidance of specialized professionals.

For children up to 12 years old, there are classes of basketball, table tennis, handball, badminton, volleyball and football. Those over 18 years of age can choose to Functional training, running, newcom, shuffleboard, table tennis and badminton. In addition, people with disabilities have the opportunity to join the classes boccia, table tennis, athletics, badminton and football.

The activities take place from Tuesday to Friday at various times, allowing residents to choose the most convenient time to attend classes. All are free, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to inclusion and accessibility to sport.

For those interested in joining these activities, registration and information are available at Tuesday to Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Movimentum sector, located under the south popular stand of the Estadio Único La Pedrera. The only requirements are to present a photocopy of the ID and a physical test. In the case of minors, a photocopy of the ID of the parent or guardian is also required.
