Stromboli, spattering activity in the North crater area feeds a lava overflow

The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, Etna Observatory, announced that from 6.30 pm, from the images of the INGV-OE surveillance cameras, a modest spattering activity was observed in the North crater area which feeds a lava overflow. At 6.50pm spattering activity increased slightly.

From a seismic point of view, at approximately 6.33 pm yesterday, an increase in the values ​​of the average amplitude of the volcanic tremor was observed, which rose from a medium level to a high level. No significant changes were reported in the rate of occurrence of explosion-quakes.

As regards deformations, the stations of the GNSS monitoring network do not show significant variations.
