This weekend of October 12 and 13, 2024 will be very busy for the Judo Club du Bocage Bressuirais (JCBB) which will be present on several fronts at the Métayer stadium sports complex.
It will all start on Saturday morning with a jujitsu and self-defense course with Éric Pariset, international expert in the discipline, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. During the same time slot, the club will organize a Brazilian jiu-jitsu open mat open to all from 12 years old and free. In the afternoon, there is an activity with the chicks (1:30 p.m.) and the youngest children (3:30 p.m.), before the organization of the general assembly (6:30 p.m.).
The big highlight of this vast program will nevertheless be on Sunday with the organization of the 36e opus of the national cadet tournament labeled A by the federation. In 2023, ten of the thirteen regions met in Bressuire for this competition. “We have more than 340 registered people, including a delegation from Switzerland which is coming here for the second time, commented Luc Grimault, president of the JCBB. There will also be several regional hubs, which promises us a high-level tournament again this year. »
Having become a major meeting place for young French judokas seeking selection for the French first division championship, the Bressuire tournament allows competitors in the U15 to U17 categories to score points for the national ranking list.
Everyone in the hunt for points
“As for the previous edition, fighters will be able to benefit from the grade/tournament relationship for this event, and the ranking list will be updated at the end of the tournament, continued the president. The entire JCBB team is ready to welcome everyone. »
As usual, it is the cadets who will open the ball after the traditional weigh-in, with the fights scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and end around 12:30 p.m. At the same time, the cadets will take possession of the tatami mats from 2 p.m. 30 p.m. for finals scheduled around 5 p.m.
Nine categories will be on deck for cadets, compared to eight for female cadets. Access to the sports complex will obviously be free for all visitors who may see Deux-Sévriens shine on the combat areas.
The Dojo de l’Agglomération du Niortais (DAN 79) will be closely scrutinized, as will the local judokas represented by Inès Renaudeau, Louise Berteau, Sacha Renaudeau and Maélyne Wandji who can win the title in more than 70 kg.
