After the start, Martin immediately rose to sixth position after the first corner. Marc Marquez and Enea Bastianini became victims of Martin’s maneuvers.

Quoted from Motosan, Martin revealed that one of the keys to his success on the second podium at the Japanese MotoGP was overtaking Marquez.

“The start wasn’t like yesterday, that’s clear. However, I quickly found my position in the first corner. I was facing Marc, who opened the way for me in the next two corners, and we were able to overtake [Maverick] Vinales and [Franco] Morbidelli,” said Martin.

“And it’s true that I saw a bit of chaos there between Enea and Binder, and there were already two people fighting at turn 10. Then I knew Marc would brake a little bit earlier, so I pushed the bike. Enea also went a bit further, I took advantage of the opportunity to overtake two people in the corner, and then Binder was left behind, which I think is the most difficult,” said Martin continued.

Another factor that made Martin stick closely to Francesco Bagnaia in the Japanese MotoGP was the fall of Pedro Acosta and defeat of Brad Binder.

“Well, we have to work hard on the details of the track, the maneuvers, the acceleration. How Enea does it, how Marc does it, how Pecco does it. Obviously yesterday I saw some things on Marc regarding the map that I have modified for today,” said Martin.

“Actually he has started to master this bike, he managed the tires very well, especially when we used the soft tires in the Sprint Race, and I had to do a few things for today,” Martin added.
