Clara Cáceres became the great heroine of MCD La Salle in last Saturday’s clash in Madrid, where she scored the winning basket just at the buzzer and after two overtimes.
For this reason, the base-guard was “super happy with the victory the other day on the Canoe track,” ensuring that they deserved it “after continuing to row and give everything in up to two overtimes.”
Furthermore, she personally, and she believes that all of her teammates, was “really looking forward” to the Madrid team after having faced each other in the preseason in the second match of the Leganés Tournament. “They are a rival, from my point of view, very difficult to play against because of the type of game they propose and especially there in their field, so this victory is very important,” he highlighted.
Likewise, he emphasizes that they faced this duel “with that extra motivation to achieve the first victory and that was fundamentally reflected in the second half and at the end of the clash. We held on to it without giving up until the last second, literally.”
Regarding the adaptation to the Lasallian squad, the woman from Córdoba stressed that “since it is a practically new team, in the end this is noticeable at the beginning, but we have worked since we started training to adapt and cohere together.” Personally, he highlights that it has been “very easy” from the beginning, since “there is a very good group and we are all following the line of work, with desire and predisposition to everything that Álex Gómez and the rest of the technical staff propose ”, he stressed.
Regarding the next match, which will face Azul Marino Mallorca Palma this Saturday, Clara Cáceres explained that it is “a very solid team, which has high-level players in all positions and rotations that do not lower that level.” Also, as he added, “it has been seen in these first days that they are already going more smoothly and they have achieved the two victories by very comfortable scores.” Given this, he makes it clear that the objective of MCD La Salle is “simply to impose our game and rhythm, to continue growing as a team and that everything worked in training is reflected on the field…and of course, to win, because not We can go out on the track with no other idea than that in our heads,” concluded the Andalusian.
The Melilla Ciudad del Deporte La Salle team is preparing for the duel next Saturday (8:00 p.m.), in which Álex Gómez’s team will receive a visit, at the Guillermo García Pezzi Pavilion, from Azul Marino Mallorca Palma, co-leader after two days disputed.
