Raúl González will leave Real Madrid Castilla at the end of this season. Real Madrid has already informed the legendary footballer of the white team that he will not continue in the reserve team, as Marca announced this Wednesday. His replacement on the Castilla bench from the 2025-2026 campaign will be Álvaro Arbeloa, the current Real Madrid Youth A coach.
Raúl will begin a six-year stint as Castilla coach next June, although the club chaired by Florentino Pérez wants the former player to remain linked to the entity. Although it has been rumored that sooner rather than later Raúl will become coach of Schalke, a club where he played for two seasons after saying goodbye to Real Madrid and is an idol of the German team, he could be part of the coaching staff of the white first team with Carlo Ancelotti. He could also hold a position in the quarry, in the offices, according to Marca.
Castilla, after seven games played this season, is second to last in the group in the First Federation (former Second B), with only one victory, three draws and three losses. He has already completed six seasons on the Real Madrid bench -since 2019-2020-, and what he takes from the present. The former forward has also coached Cadete B and Juvenil B before taking charge of Castilla and winning the Youth League as coach of Juvenil A in 2020. In the 2022-2023 season he was one step away from taking Castilla to the Second Division , since they lost the final against Eldense for promotion.
