Wednesday first day
The German Ruhr Internationals will take place for the fifth time in Mülheim an der Ruhr from October 9th to 13th. This year, 530 young badminton players from 23 nations will compete for world ranking points at this tournament.
The organizer of the German Ruhr Internationals is VfB Grün-Weiß Mülheim and the organizer is the German Badminton Association.
The YONEX German Ruhr Internationals 2024 began on Wednesday with the first round in the singles and mixed doubles competitions.
As was the case last year, the teams from France and Switzerland performed strongly, but many badminton players from the German national associations also won their opening games and are still in the running. Lisa Paula Bonnemann from Mülheim was also able to prevail in the U19 women’s singles in an exciting match over three sets against the strong Swiss Lana Cesari.
On Thursday the second round of the individual and mixed competitions continues in the Westenergie sports hall from 9:00 a.m. Green-White youngster Dana Arnold also starts here in the women’s singles U17.
