Nova, Del Orbe and Rosa, gold in Open Panam Judo

The first place and champion of the competition belonged to the Colombian team, which added seven gold medals, six second place medals and 16 medals.

The Dominican Republic took second place in the Senior Pan American Judo Open that concluded at the Parque del Este Table Tennis Pavilion with the participation of a total of 12 countries.

The Dominican representation obtained a total of 20 medals, including three gold, four silver and 13 bronze, as well as 12 fifth places and four seventh places.

The United States, with two gold medals, two silver medals and three bronze medals, took third place, followed by the representation of Panama, which claimed fourth place by winning one gold and one silver medal in the competition.

RD Medalists

The Dominicans José Nova, Medickson del Orbe and Ana Rosa won the gold medals in their respective categories at the Santo Domingo 2024 Judo Open.

Nova beat Elmer Orejuega, from Colombia, by ippom, in more than 100 kilos, while Ana Rosa, in -57 kilograms, defeated the Colombian Yayerly Pajoy, while Del Orbe won in -90 kilos after beating Alexander Knauf , from the United States.

For Colombia, Wendy Gol she beat Lilian Cordones, from Panama, in the final -52 kilos; Cindy Mera She was crowned at -63 kilograms after defeating the Dominican Creymarlin Valdez; Tania Murillo reigned at -78 kilograms; Brigitte Carabali did the same at more than 78 kilos by defeating Ronni Shelby Aragona, from the United States; Juan Montealegre defeated his countryman Johan Gómez, and Santiago Villada won the final -66 kilos against Antfernee Pepín.
