The Indian Army has launched the highly anticipated Red Shield Badminton Tournament Trophy Tour, commencing from Bordumsa on October 7, 2024. The tour is being met with excitement as it travels through Assam, showcasing the spirit of sportsmanship and unity.
On October 9, the tour arrived in Digboi, where the trophy was displayed at Ramleela Maidan. The event saw the participation of over 1,000 locals, including students and enthusiastic young athletes, who gathered to celebrate. The day was made even more vibrant with cultural performances, including a mesmerizing display of the traditional Bihu dance, highlighting Assam’s rich cultural heritage.
The tour is set to continue its journey across the state, with its next stop in Margherita on October 14. As the tour nears its final destinations, it will pass through Doomdooma College and reach Navodaya Vidyalaya in Kakopather on October 16.
The grand finale of the Trophy Tour will take place in Tinsukia, where the trophy will be displayed during the opening ceremony of the 2nd edition of the Red Shield Badminton Tournament on October 18, 2024, at Hijuguri Indoor Stadium.
The tournament, organized by the Indian Army in collaboration with the Assam Badminton Association, aims to provide a platform for young badminton talents to showcase their skills.
