Our expert’s pick of the day: the Niners will return to their good habits

Should we bet on the 49ers or Seahawks in the NFL Week 6 Thursday night game? Currently, the Niners are favored by 3.5 points and the projected total is 48.5 points between the two teams.

In this key game of the National Association West, I don’t see any bet with clear good value, but if I have to decide, I would bet on San Francisco to win by more than 3.5 points.

The last five meetings between these two teams have been largely in favor of Kyle Shanahan’s club. Indeed, he presented a perfect record of 5-0, winning by an average margin of 15.2 points.

Another big reason why I’m picking San Francisco is the fact that Seattle hasn’t impressed me in their five games. The Seahawks opened with a six-point home win over Denver, with Bo Nix making his first NFL start. Then, they needed overtime to defeat the Patriots, before enjoying a 24-3 victory against the Dolphins. In this duel, Miami counted on Skylar Thompson and Tim Boyle behind the center.

The Seahawks finally faced a stronger opponent (Detroit) in Week 4, and things didn’t go very well. In the end, they suffered a 42-29 loss. It was the first time their defense faced a decent offense and it was crushed.

Last week, Seattle was a heavy favorite at home against the Giants. New York was playing without its top receiver, Malik Nabers, and its starting running back, Devin Singletary. Still, the G-Men found a way to put 29 points on the board. It could have been 36 if Eric Gray hadn’t fumbled the ball at the 1 line.

I also like the Niners’ chances in this game, as they will be ultra motivated after an embarrassing home loss to the Cardinals. Brock Purdy struggled in this game and I expect him to bounce back against a suspect Seahawks defense.

Brandon Aiyuk missed all of training camp due to a contract dispute. He wasn’t in great shape to start the season, but now he’s back to his old self. After being unable to surpass 50 passing yards in his first four games, he racked up 147 against Arizona last week. This is excellent news for the San Francisco offense, which will also count on Deebo Samuel and George Kittle, returning after healing their injuries.

Good luck !
