Hey, here’s Hugo Ekitike again! The former Reims and PSG player, now in Frankfurt, scored his second goal in two matches with the Espoirs this Friday. Well launched by Millot on the right side before deceiving the opposing goalkeeper with his right foot from a tight angle (0-1, 18th), he thus showed the way to the Bleuets, winners in Cyprus (0-3).
The other achievements were scored by Akliouche (68th) and Kouassi at the very end of a match (90th), which was disrupted by a failure of floodlights after a quarter of an hour of play and an interruption of around ten minutes .
For the first of Gérald Baticle, the former assistant of Thierry Henry, the Bleuets spared no effort to offer a first success to their new coach. The latter are second in their group (H), one point behind Slovenia who have one more match, and therefore in a favorable position to finish in first place before facing Austria on Tuesday in Nancy.
The France Espoirs team, however, did not reproduce the same offensive festival as in the first leg (9-0). Perhaps this is due to the cascade of packages in the offensive sector that Baticle had to face. Cherki, Doué, Tel and Rutter were indeed missing.
In the second period, Akliouche scored the break goal with a sumptuous left-footed shot, following a cross from the left delivered by Tchaouna, for whom it was the first selection (0-2, 68th). With a header following a corner, Kouassi completed the French victory (0-3, 90th).
