Greek team Panathinaikos AKTOR finished the second week as leader in THY Europa League, Europe’s “number 1” organization on a club basis in basketball. In the regular season played in league style, 18 teams took to the court on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The first country derby of the season in the Europa League was played between Turkish teams. Fenerbahçe Beko started the season with 2 out of 2 by beating Anadolu Efes 83-78 away. Anadolu Efes suffered its first defeat. 10 players who played for the yellow-dark blue team in the match also contributed to the score. While Bonzie Colson was Fenerbahçe Beko’s top scorer with 16 points, Dan Oturu’s 21-point performance was not enough for Anadolu Efes to win.

Among the two national basketball players playing for Panathinaikos, Cedi Osman scored 5 points and Ömer Faruk Yurtseven scored 8 points against Bayern Munich.

Two names shared the title of Most Valuable Player of the Week (MVP).
Olympiacos’ star player Sasha Vezenkov and LDCL ASVEL’s center Neal Sako became the MVP of the week.
Vezenkov scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in addition to his 30 efficiency points in the match where his team defeated Zalgiris 74-68. Sako, on the other hand, had a performance of 19 points and 11 rebounds while playing with an efficiency score of 30 in the match they beat Virtus Segafredo Bologna 87-85.
On the other hand, at the end of the first two weeks, Dan Oturu of Anadolu Efes ranked first in this statistics with 25 efficiency points, while Fenerbahçe Beko is the leader of the league in defensive and total rebounds, and Anadolu Efes is the leader in blocks.
– First double match week of the season
The first double match week of the 2024-2025 season in the THY Europa League will be played next week.
Teams will finish the week with two matches each. Fenerbahçe Beko, representing Turkey, will play against ALBA Berlin in Germany on Thursday, October 17, after hosting Red Star in Ataşehir on Tuesday, October 15.
Anadolu Efes will face the Israeli team Maccabi Playtika in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, on Tuesday, October 15. The dark blue-whites will host the Greek team Olympikas on Friday, October 18.
