JÖNKÖPING. HV71 lost the anxiety match against Rögle.

Seven losses in the nine games means that the team drops in the table.

The hero of the match in the dramatic match was Felix Nilsson who scored 4–3 in overtime.

In the extension, there were scary scenes when Hugo Alnefeldt was left lying on the ice.

The HV71 goalkeeper was kneed in the back of the head by Josh Dickinson and had to be helped out.

Instead, Frederik Dichow had to jump in between the posts and play the last 2.40 minutes.

After the decision, he hit the goalkeeper’s stick against the walls in the players’ corridor and screamed loudly.

– It wasn’t fun to jump in like that and concede a goal straight away. I haven’t had time to talk to Hugo Alnefeldt, says Frederik Dichow.

“Part of the goal”

After the match, Hugo Alnefeldt could remain in the dressing room, according to information to Sportbladet, he is stiff and has difficulty moving his neck.

– He got hit and I chose to pick him off to examine him a little more closely. It’s just for safety reasons. I won’t go into diagnoses any more, we’ll see this week how he’s doing. He is okay in the dressing room and I don’t think he will be out for long, says HV71’s doctor Jonas Kalman.

It is a big concern for the injured HV71 if they are forced to do without their successful first goalkeeper.

– I think the Rögle player went into the situation a little hard, while Hugo Alnefelt was way out. I am part of the goal, says HV71’s head coach Anton Blomqvist.

Important Rögle victory

Rögle, for its part, broke the losing streak of six straight games and took its second win of the season.

What was the most interesting game of the season so far in advance was characterized by anxious players out on the ice.

At times it was confusing and nervous, the teams prioritized backing home instead of attacking.

When the game hit its hardest for HV71 in the second period, the team was booed in the sold-out arena.

Behind the first goals

Lukas Ekeståhl-Jonsson was behind the first two goals in the match for Rögle.

First, he fired a shot on the power play between the legs of Hugo Alnefeldt.

– It was just a matter of going in and shooting that bomb. It was good preparatory work, says the Rögle defender.

Herman Träff had hit a clearance over the rim and was sent off for two minutes for puck out.

Then Lukas Ekeståhl-Jonsson gave full back colleague Filip Johansson an open goal when there was chaos in front of the HV71 goalkeeper.

– I didn’t think he would have the cold to match. He is a great hockey player, says Filip Johansson.

Jacob Peterson skillfully scored the third Rögle goal after strong preparatory work by Albin Sundsvik.

Late receipt

It was André Petersson who reduced for HV71 when he flipped the puck over the arm of Christoffer Rifalk.

The second reduction was made by Isac Brännström by fighting for the puck in the third period.

HV71 pushed hard six to four at the end and Sean Day equalized with 40 seconds left.

Six points in three games last week followed up with a point in two games this week.
